What do you do to keep yourself fit?
I am always on a powerlifting program that includes strength training, kettlebell work, and conditioning. I compete in powerlifting meets which helps me stay on track. Outside of the gym, I enjoy hiking and yoga.
What do you think is the biggest misconception regarding personal training?
I think the biggest misconception is that we take a boot camp-like approach and yell at our clients to keep going until they pass out. Personal training is really client oriented around their goals, needs, and what they enjoy.
What advice can you give a member new to exercise?
Stay consistent and adopt good nutrition habits.
What would you do if you only had 30 minutes a day to exercise?
I would stick to the basic compound movements of strength training and include the squat, bench, and deadlift.
Why do you like working at Matrix Fitness Club?
